SABRINA MICHELLE TAYLOR PART 4: A Testimony and timeline.
What follows is the timeline sent to be my someone Sabrina has taken advantage of. She wishes to remain anonymous but will be submitting this information to authorities to help build a profile and case against Sabrina.
Mid-November, 2014—I meet Sabrina Taylor at a dinner with mutual friends in the Seattle comics community.
December 16, 2014—we become Facebook friends.
March, 3, 2015 5:45 pm—I respond to a Facebook plea about needing money to keep her car from being repossessed. She said she had been doxxed byGamerGate and it was causing her a lot of problems. It’s $500 but the problem seems larger so I tell her I can loan her $1000. I tell her I will bring her a check and she says she would rather I paypal her the money. I paypal it to her.
She said Chase had agreed to pay her a personal loan and then had backed out. She asks me not to tell her boyfriend that I am loaning her money. (Her boyfriend knows both my brother and my boyfriend)
March 5, 2015 10:45 am—She messages me again and says that her roommate is demanding that she move out because of her financial troubles. She said her landlord was a slumlord and wanted her to leave. She needs $750 and she is sending emails out to friends asking for help. I tell her to let me know how it goes.
She invites me to a Korean spa with her that Saturday and I say no thanks.
2:35 pm —She messages me that her friends can’t help her. I tell her I can paypal her the money and I do so that afternoon.
March 10, 2015 1:45 pm—She messages me to tell me that the banks are racist and lack empathy. She says Chase’s lawyer met with her lawyer and nothing came of it. She met with Key Bank to try to convince them to give her a loan and they made her feel like “ghetto trash” She tells me she makes $39,000 a year and has student loans but had good credit until GamerGate doxxed her. She tells me a little about her upcoming court date.
March 12, 2015 2:58 pm—She messages me to invite me to see a concert. She says she got free tickets from a friend (I decline). Then she asks me for more help. She says she sold her iPad at a pawn shop but is still short the money she needs. I don’t reply for a few hours, then messages again to check if I’m mad at her. I write back that I feel overwhelmed. I dodge the whole issue of money. She takes the hint and says she thinks maybe her brother can help her instead.
March 14, 2015 1:08 pm—She messages me that her brother isn’t going to help her after all. She says she’ll get $2100 in additional student loans in mid-April but until then she’s screwed. She needs to pay tuition. I tell her I’m starting to feel too involved and overwhelmed, but I’m willing to meet with her if she brings me her documentation and an emergency budget plan of what she needs for which items.
March 15, 2015 – 2 pm. We meet in person at Sureshot in the U. District. She doesn’t bring any documentation but tells me her whole story. Against my better judgment, I do write her a check. For $5000. She tells me she will be adding it to
the amount she is suing Chase for, and that her lawyer thinks she has a good case. The court date is April 17th and the it could take up to a month after that to actually get the money.
March 16, 2015 – the check is cashed from my Wells Fargo checking account.

March 16, 2015 9:04 am – She messages me and invites me to a college basketball game. She says her dad works on the NCAA legal team and he gets tournament tickets for free. I do agree to go with her to the game.
March 16, 2015 1:37 pm – She messages me that she was wrong about the amount she needed to pay for tuition. She said she went to pay for classes and realized she needed an additional $1000. I say no. She asks me if I am mad at her,
and I say that I feel stressed. She says she is sorry and she will pay me back as soon as she gets her payment from the court case.
March 20, 2015 – In messages about meeting up for the basketball game, she mentions having just been at Fred Hutch, where she says she works. She also mentions that her brother sent her an Iowa t-shirt.
March 24, 2015 – She messages me exuberantly saying she is thrilled, and Chase Bank is going to settle out of court for the full $32,000 that she asked for. My understanding is that my loan to her has been added to that sum and she will pay
me back as soon as she gets the money in her hands. She says she’s on the phone with her lawyer right as she’s messaging me, she says. She says she will be able to
pay me back May 5. Then she says she wants to borrow $600 more for moving costs, if she can’t get money by Friday. I respond that I will loan her the money. I add up the loans like this … 1000 + 750 + 4000 + 600 = 6350 and ask for her confirmation that that is what she owes me in total. She says “Yup!”
March 26, 2015 11:46 am– She sends me an evite for a party but I tell her I can’t make it.
March 26, 2015 1:52 pm – She messages me to say that even though her landlord is making her move out right away, he’s not going to return her deposit until May 1, and the new building manager needs a deposit from her on Monday. She said she pawned her computer for $200 (she noted that she was typing on her iPad).
She said Mike (her boyfriend) asked his friend Cory for help but Cory said no. She said she needed an additional $1100. Then she said something about me putting a lien against her car which is worth $6200 according to Kelly Blue Book. I write
back to tell her that “I just have to be done” with her money issues. She writes back and says she understands and then asks me if I will still loan her the $600 that I had agreed to before and that I told her I would give to her at a party we
would both be attending. I ignored her question and didn’t go to the party and didn’t give her the $600 (or any money ever again. So now I had given her $5750)
March 29, 2015 2:58 pm – She messages me to say she’s sorry and wonders if I know anyone who is willing to buy her things that she listed on Craigslist. She said someone had been willing to help her but they got in a car accident, so now she was back to square one. I ignore her message.
March 31, 2015 3:00 pm – She messages “Hey, are you there?” and I ignore the message.
April 7, 2015 8:56 pm – I message her on her birthday to tell her I hope her life has started to turn around. She writes back that she will be able to pay me back soon.
** We chit chat a few times via messenger about this or that over the next four weeks – not about the money – the last day we chatted was May 4, the day before Sabrina said she would have my money. **
May 27, 2015 11:32 am – I message Sabrina and tell her that if she’s been busy, I can come and pick up the check from you. She messages back and says that she should have a check for me on June 5.
June 8, 2015 5:20 pm – She messages me to say she’ll have $1000 for me on July 5, and the rest for me on July 15. I write back, “I guess all I can do is wait to find out if you are a person of integrity.” I ask her if she got the settlement or not and
tell her she is taking advantage of me. She writes back that the settlement is being paid in smaller amounts and in order to do her job she had to buy “two insanely expensive plane tickets.”
June 9, 2015 5:42 am – I message her to say I don’t trust her and I know she’s just making other things a higher priority than paying me back. I tell her that just because she’s upset doesn’t mean she’s not fucking with me. She doesn’t respond.
June 9, 2015 1:56 pm – I write back again and say I hated to have been an asshole earlier, but she really needs to maintain her reliability better. She writes back that she understands but she can’t think in the heat and she has final exams.
** We don’t correspond at all for the next two weeks **
June 23, 2015 3:30 pm – She messages to say that she will PayPal me $1000 then and then the rest when she gets back from San Diego ComiCon. She does send me the $1000 that day (all she ever paid back, bringing the outstanding amount
to $4750)
July 24, 2015 5:58 pm – She messages to say she hasn’t forgotten about me and that she is waiting for stuff to get cleared up.
**We chat a little about other stuff over the next few weeks **
August 14, 2015 1:16 pm – She messages me to say that Chase is delaying giving her money and it is ruining her life. She said her ex told UW about the settlement for revenge. She said she has only received $3200 of the settlement but now UW says her financial aid is under review and that means that tuition is due immediately, and she can’t pay it. She said she needs $4200 and she can get it back to me in October when she gets her NIH money. And that in October she would also be able to pay me $3000 of what she already owed me. She says she is thinking of dropping out. I tell her she probably should not re-enroll in school right now under her circumstances. She says she can’t drop out because she would lose her job at the lab because it was work study. I tell her it would just be irresponsible of her to borrow more money, and that I’m sorry things aren’t working out for her. She writes back later to say a professor is helping her.
January 4, 2016 5:07 pm – I message her that she owes me $4750 still. She responds that she will get me that amount on January 20. Then she told me about how her ex is being abusive.
** She never pays me back. We talk a few times about other things until May 2016, and then don’t talk at all until a political conversation on September 11, 2017. That was the last time we talked.**
